Fire Safety at Work: Because Safety Isn’t Optional

It’s a normal day at work then suddenly, the fire alarm blares. Your heart skips. What now?
In that moment, staying calm and knowing what to do can protect lives. Here’s a simple,no-panic guide to evacuating safely:
Take It Seriously
Don’t wait to see if it’s a drill. When the alarm sounds, treat it as real. Every second counts.
Stop and Leave
Leave what you’re doing and head for the nearest exit. Don’t waste time collecting bags or finishing tasks — your safety comes first.
Use the Nearest Exit (Not the Lift!)
Follow the exit signs and avoid using elevators. If there's smoke, stay low — clean air is near the floor. Close doors behind you to slow the fire’s spread.
Look Out for Each Other
If someone nearby needs help assist them. Whether it’s a colleague, visitor, or someone unfamiliar with the building, teamwork saves lives.
Go to the Assembly Point
Head straight to your designated assembly area and stay there. Fire Marshals will check that everyone’s accounted for.
Never Go Back In
Even if you forgot something important don’t go back. Wait for official clearance before re-entering.
Fire doesn’t wait — but a well-prepared team can respond quickly, calmly, and safely.
